The Pamoja Experience

Pamoja teachers will facilitate teaching online for approved IB courses using the Pamoja platform, creating a flexible employment opportunity that fits around other commitments.  Pamoja gives teachers the chance to be part of a global community. As a Pamoja teacher, you will be able to collaborate with experienced IB colleagues, access professional development opportunities, and reach students all over the world.  The role of a Pamoja teacher is to facilitate learning – not direct it. As a Pamoja teacher, you are not expected to create curriculum content; all the course content, tasks, and resources are set in advance. This allows our teachers to focus on connecting with their global class of students, offering personal developmental feedback.

Pamoja Education is looking for teachers who are not only experts in their subject matter, but who are also empathetic and patient. Pamoja teachers need to be flexible and adaptable to working in various systems, and with students from different backgrounds.   Applicants should be committed to embracing and modelling the IB learner profile.

Application Process

Edvectus has been selected as the exclusive 2025 recruitment partner for Pamoja Education, responsible for screening and shortlisting all applicants. You can either apply via the form below, through the Edvectus job portal or send your CV directly to pamoja@edvectus.com.  Suitable applicants will be expected to complete a short online video interview assessment and should you be successful you will be invited to undertake training on Pamoja’s online platform and pedagogy which if you successfully complete will allow you access to the Pamoja teaching community. 

Note that Safer Recruitment checks will be undertaken for all successful candidates, including identity verification, confidential reference checks, and federal criminal record checks. 

Application criteria

  • Educated to a minimum of degree level, or equivalent, with an appropriate teaching qualification

  • Has completed a full two-year IB DP cycle within the last three years

  • Those who have additional experience (IB examiners in their subject, Extended Essay supervisors for example) are particularly welcome to apply

  • Must have sufficient spoken English skills and demonstrate strong written English abilities.  Ability to speak and write another language fluently is an asset. 

  • Is able to confidently use Microsoft Office and its associated programmes

  • Able to work virtually and autonomously to meet deadlines, with excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Strong technical skills

  • Strong, stable internet connection
