This international school in Hangzhou is looking for a Director of Performing Arts with the following education, skills and experience:

BASIC QUALIFICATION
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Desirable: Evidence of additional training and commitment to further professional development. Recognised qualification in performing art.
• A passion for delivering high-quality learning in both areas.
• Support school Values.

EXPERIENCE
The teacher should have experience of:
Producing whole school events.

In addition, the teacher might have experience of:
Working in a bilingual school.
Working outside of the UK as a class teacher.
Working in partnership with parents.

EXPERTISE
Actively promote and demonstrate the school’s ethos, values and aims positively.
Be proficient in playing a classroom-appropriate musical instrument.
Use effective strategies to monitor motivation and morale.
Develop good personal relationships within a team.
Establish and develop close relationships with parents and the community.
Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences.
To attend out-of-hours events.
Work with other adults in the classroom in planning and delivering high-quality learning.

Learning is based on the UK National Curriculum and delivered in a way that is consistent with the school's ethos. Served by Hangzhou International Airport and also Shanghai International Airport, travel both domestically and internationally is accessible. The fast train to Shanghai takes just 50 minutes and there are also regular bus services as well. The region enjoys a subtropical climate with four distinctive seasons that include hot summers and cold winters (with occasional snow).
