This international school in Hangzhou is seeking a Secondary Music (Band) Teacher to lay a foundation for a lifelong love of, and appreciation for, music by introducing basic melodic and rhythmic concepts, instrument types and families, vocal posture and breathing, and other topics and skills. You will guide students to think both critically and creatively about the role of music in the human experience and as a form of self-expression. You will also collaborate with fellow teachers to bring music into history, technology, and other areas to provide further context and enhance student learning. Throughout the academic year, you organize and engage in numerous events to showcase your students’ work.
All candidates must be qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in the teaching subject. Many teachers at this school hold multiple advanced degrees in their field. For Elementary and Early Education positions, a degree in this or related field is acceptable and/or encouraged. Applicants should also have a minimum of two years teaching experience as the lead teacher of record in a classroom. This is a requirement to obtain a working visa. They should demonstrate an eagerness and willingness to collaborate with and elevate teaching colleagues and high academic standards and a desire to make a difference in the rigor of international education.
