This not-for-profit European School in Central Asia opened in September 2011 with just 20 pupils aged between 2 and 10 years of age, and now there are now more than 300 pupils aged between 2 and 18 years old. As an IB World School they offer the IB Diploma Programme, IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). They are also a Cambridge International School, with Cambridge Assessment International Education accreditation for the IGCSE programme.
The school are looking for an Individuals & Societies & History Teacher to develop, deliver, and assess Individuals & Societies teaching in the IB Middle Years Programme and History in the Cambridge IGCSE Programme and/or IB Diploma Programme (as required, according to student needs and teacher allocations). The school are looking for candidates who have a University degree in History or a related subject, experience teaching middle and high school students, who have a genuine enjoyment of working with students and ability to enable a wide range of students to reach their academic potential, the ability to plan strategically, to set and meet deadlines and to implement plans and who are capable of developing new educational programmes. They look for teachers with excellent interpersonal, team leadership and membership skills, who are able to communicate well with students, staff and parents and gain their confidence and respect and show a commitment to Professional Development. Applicant should have excellent spoken and written English and ideally have experience teaching IB MYP, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma. This is a full time long-term position with an initial contract of two or three years (subject to 3 months’ probation), which will be renewable by mutual consent.
