A well established independent international coeducational school located in Eastern China (Shanghai) is looking to appoint well-qualified and experienced Director of University and Careers Counselling to lead and manage the University & Careers Counselling Department.

The successful candidate must have:
• A relevant qualification/certification in university & careers counselling and at least 5 years of relevant experience working within a secondary school setting.
• Relevant experience in an international school setting with experience working interdepartmentally to embed university and careers programming.
• A deep working knowledge of US, UK, European, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canadian, and Australian admissions processes and systems.
• Classroom and curriculum development experience to lead robust university and career programming.
• Have experience working with international students and families with a deep, working knowledge of the importance of culturally responsive practice.
• Ability to liaise as appropriate with outside agencies and community members to support all areas of programming.
• Experience with university admissions testing for US and UK admissions, including serving as test site supervisor for ACT/SAT.
• Working knowledge of university application platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility and be able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to fulfil all pastoral, welfare, and supervisory duties effectively and willingly.
• Preparedness to role model a mindset of continuous development and improvement, to meet and exceed expectations.
• Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and high standards.

International school experience is preferred.
