ASSISTANT HEAD OF BOYS SCHOOL NEEDED IN AL AIN, ABU DHABI - IMMEDIATE

An experienced Assistant Head of Boys is sought by an established KG to Grade 12 private English medium international school located in Abu Dhabi.

All applicants must have qualified teacher status, substantial teaching experience and hold a current leadership position. Knowledge and experience of working in a local or multi-cultural learning environment would be highly advantageous. Previous IB PYP experience is preferred. American Curriculum experience (common core preferred) is also valued.

The school offers a monthly tax free salary value depending upon qualifications and experience ranging from AED16k-AED22k. There are also allowances for utility bills and excess baggage, international medical insurance is provided as well as annual airfares, end of service gratuity, local bus transportation and two free places for dependent children plus medical insurance (but no flights or visa costs for spouse and dependants). Accommodation is provided as part of the employment package; it is furnished and single occupancy (two bedrooms only).

The school caters for mainly Emirati students. Combining the US core standards curriculum with a delivery through the philosophy of IB without the scope and sequence, the school blends the best of both worlds of a traditional American approach of text books and regular testing and a more student centred perspective. The ultimate goal is to eventually attain IB world school status retaining the American element so students can graduate with a US diploma and if they meet with the criteria and IB diploma too. Advanced Placement courses are also available.

Tradition and modern ways of life combine to offer the best of both worlds; there are huge shopping malls and old souks; there are hotels full of restaurants, bars and sports clubs and forts teeming with history and discovery; there is something for everyone.
