A private co-educational non for profit bilingual school located in Kuwait is seeking an elementary general counsellor - August 2025
Salary: KWD865-1148 tax free per month
Accommodation: Free furnished single occupancy apartment
Other Benefits: International medical insurance, annual return flights, settling in allowance, baggage allowance and an end of service gratuity
This is both a social and guidance counselor (definitely not career counselor); someone with a background in child protection would be advantageous, degree in psychology or social sciences related and 2-3 years of counseling experience in a school .
The school is a well established and reputable establishment of enviable accreditation serving a 90% local population of 2100 students from KG to Grade 12 blending the benefits of a bilingual US curriculum with the heritage and values of the Islamic ethos.
Counsellor
• Must be licensed Counsellor with a bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or related field or Masters in Guidance and/or Counseling
• Two or more years of experience in counseling students and classroom teaching
• Possess a vast “tool box” of successful interventions for students
• Deep understanding of student developmental stages and needs.
• Fluency in English
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Excellent collaboration skills
• Strong IT skills

I have really enjoyed it so far! There have been a lot of positives. There is so much more to do here than I thought there would be. I guess the thing is that you have to put yourself out there and say yes to everything! Some challenges I think are, obviously, the school culture is totally different to what I'm use to and that's taken some getting used to but I do really, really enjoy the school and the people that I've met.
