Qualification and Experience Required
•At least 2 years of management experience
•At least 6 years of teaching experience
•Early Childhood education experience
•Bachelor or above degree is required
•Professional leadership qualifications are desirable

•Excellent knowledge, understanding, and experience of the EYFS Framework and the English National Curriculum
•Excellent knowledge and understanding of inquiry-based learning theories and approaches
•Knowledge and understanding of language acquisition theories and approaches
•Knowledge and understanding of the SEN practices
•Excellent knowledge of early childhood education
•A strong knowledge of age-appropriate teaching strategies for Early Years and KS1 learners

We are looking for a dynamic, emotionally intelligent, and proactive Assistant Head to work with the Head and Deputy Head to lead and manage the Early Years section of the School. The Assistant Head will focus on student transitions, including the school’s admissions assessment process. They will lead well-being, overseeing learning support, leading the pastoral aspects of the school to ensure that students come first.
The postholder will have a drive for collaboration, teamwork, and school development. They will be community-centric and put students first, ensuring they have a passion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. It is essential that they adopt a values-based approach to their behaviours, interactions, and decision-making. They will be able to demonstrate areas of whole-school leadership and the impact they have made. The Assistant Head will be reflective and evaluative, and driven by improving and developing the school’s systems and overall offer.
