We are looking for a strong, charismatic and experienced Secondary IB Biology Teacher from August 2020 for one of the longest standing IB Continuum schools in South America, catering for pupils from Early Years up to IBDP level and offering the Reggio Emilia, IB PYP, MYP, and DP curriculum. Students are primarily Ecuadorian with approximately 600 currently on roll. Class sizes are between about 18-22 per class with Teacher Assistants in all classes of preschool through to grade 3 and then by level after that through middle school. The school has a 1:1 device program and an extensive ASA and sports program.
Applicants must hold (minimum) of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s degree preferred) with a teaching qualification and at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting. Applicants should be compliant with Policy 2.02.0 Administrative and Operational Language Policy, which details required language proficiency based on the specific position and teaching assignment. They should have strong knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach, the International Baccalaureate Organization's PYP, MYP and/or DP programmes and the international school context, be a strong practitioner and educationalist, committed to all areas of the learning process and teaching, especially inquiry based and concept based teaching. All candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to motivate and support students. The school pay between 13,000 and 18,000 USD salary per year and benefits package that includes flights, housing, medical insurance and tuition for dependants. Contracts for leadership roles are 2 years. The cost of living in Quito is very low and you can live extremely well on the salaries provided.
